Our Story

We were given our first Shih Tzu "Tizzy"  - Penliza's Tizzy Wizzy For Aiyanna, by my parents, who bred her.  We got her for company for our Golden Retriever "Barney" having just lost his faithful companion "Charlie" a Shetland Sheepdog who we sadly lost at the age of 12 years.

Tizzy was the smallest dog we had ever owned, but instantly fell in love with her, so much so 2 years later we decided we would just have to get another one ..... So in comes "Benson" - Making Waves For Weatsom,  We had turned  our hand to showing Tizzy but unfortunately she had other idea's, Tizzy had got the idea into her head that showing was not for her despite doing rather well for a first attempt.

Anyone in the Shih Tzu World will tell you ....When a Shih Tzu decides it doesn't want to do something ...  We can guarantee you it wont. They have a tendency to be a little stubborn when it suits them. But do not let this put you off ever owning one, because from personal experience they more than make up for this by their companionship and personality.

During our first 2 years of showing, We qualified both Tizzy and Benson for Crufts and was delighted when my parents asked to use Benson at stud - He sired a litter of 3 beautiful girls and 1 boy.  The identical twins Mini and Lily  went to fantastic pet homes, Mum and Dad kept the other little girl and called her Inca as she was a solid black "Penliza's Storm In A Teacup" .... and the little boy ... Well what can we say apart from "then there were 3" :) ï»¿

You have guessed it - In comes "Tobbi" -  Penliza's Puddle Jumper With Aiyanna.

Sadly not long after we brought Tobbi home and 15 days before Christmas, we had to say goodbye to our Barney - unbeknownst to us had been suffering from cancer of the spleen and even to the end was a great friend and big brother to all 3 of the little monsters.   Just over 6 months later .... In comes number 4 - "Grace" - Berylendan's Miss Looby Lou Of Aiyanna. Not quiet the show dog we were hoping for but they all can't be show perfect and we love her just as much.  Grace and Tobbi are where Aiyanna Shih Tzu's really begin.

On 02/04/2012 Tobbi and Grace became proud parents to 3 beautiful little girls.   Our very first litter

Sky - Aiyanna's Sealed With A Kiss

Dixie - Aiyanna's Fly Me To The Moon

Millie - Aiyanna's April Showers

And there you have it .... addition number 5, Sky  :)

Definition of "AIYANNA" - This name is a Native American girls name and means Eternal Bloom,

Not only is this something we aim to strive for and hope that in the years to come each bloom will grow in strength.

We also feel blessed that out first litter were 3 girls, coincidence ? who knows :)
